• Pitta is fire, which is hot, slightly oily, light and sharp.

• Pitta tends to burn out of control in the hot summer months.

• Reduce Pitta by increasing consumption of Sweet, Bitter, Astringent, Cold, and Heavy foods such as salads, smoothies, dark leafy bitter greens, and fresh sweet fruits.

• Eat less Pungent (Spicy), Sour, Salty, Hot, Light, and Dry foods such as hot peppers, pickled sour fermented vinegar foods and hot beverages.• Sip cool or room temperature water with cucumber slices or drink coconut water to keep cool and hydrated.
